- Low flow from clogged aerators or cartridges

- Seized or leaking shut-off valves under the sink
Why a drip is worth fixing
A single dripping faucet can waste a surprising amount of water over a year, and on hot water it also wastes the energy used to heat it. More importantly, a slow leak under a sink can go unnoticed for weeks, soaking the cabinet base and the floor beneath it.
Faucet installation
We install:
- Kitchen faucets — single-handle, two-handle, pull-down and pull-out
- Bathroom faucets — single-hole, centreset and widespread
- Bar and prep sink faucets
- Pot fillers, including running a new supply line to the range wall
- Filtered water faucets paired with under-sink filtration — see water treatment
- Touchless faucets
- Commercial faucets for restaurants and commercial kitchens
What we do on an installation
- Shut off water and remove the old faucet, including seized mounting nuts
- Clean the sink or countertop surface for a proper seal
- Replace old shut-off valves if they are seized or leaking
- Install the new faucet with new supply lines
- Flush debris from the lines before installing the aerator
- Test for leaks at every connection and check both hot and cold
- Adjust the pull-down hose weight and sprayer function
Shut-off valves that have not been touched in years often fail when turned. Replacing them at the same time avoids a second call.
Before you buy a new faucet
- Count the holes in your sink or countertop. Some faucets include a deck plate to cover extra holes.
- Check the spout reach and height against your sink size and any window or shelf above it.
- Choose quality cartridges. Faucets from established brands have replacement parts available for years.
Part of a bigger project?
Faucets are often replaced during a bathroom renovation or kitchen update. If walls or cabinets are opening up anyway, it can be a good time to replace old supply piping as well.

Common questions
Why is my faucet dripping?
Most dripping faucets have a worn cartridge, washer or O-ring inside the valve. Single-handle faucets usually need a new cartridge; older two-handle compression faucets usually need washers and seats. Replacement parts depend on the brand and model.
Should I repair or replace a leaking faucet?
Repair a good-quality faucet when parts are available — cartridges for major brands are generally easy to get. Replace a faucet that is corroded, has a cracked body, uses parts that are no longer made, or has had repeated repairs.
Why is the water pressure low at only one faucet?
If only one faucet is weak, the cause is usually local: a clogged aerator, a blocked cartridge, or a kinked or partly closed supply line. Low pressure at every fixture points to a larger issue, such as the pressure-reducing valve, the main shut-off or old galvanized piping.
Can you install a faucet I bought myself?
Yes. Waywest regularly installs customer-supplied faucets. Check that the faucet matches the number of holes in your sink or countertop, and have the box and all parts on site.
